The Friday blog series, "Welcome to Our Town", introduces you to different towns/areas in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. When contemplating purchasing a new home, it's always good to do your research on the area. We hope this blog helps you to choose your forever home in a fun and exciting town that you love...and when you find it, call or email us, to discuss your financing options.
Welcome to Solomons,MD; located at the southern tip of Calvert County, in Southern Maryland, where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. Like many tidewater communities of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Solomons was isolated, close-knit and self-sufficient. With the construction of the Patuxent Naval Air Station around 1942, the population of the town grew from 263 to more than 2,600. The focus of this town still lies with the waters nearby, as marinas, marine suppliers, charter boat operators, restaurants, inns and other businesses thrive in this quiet waterside town. Here you will find just a few of our favorite places and spaces!
